Drawing on my background, I provide expert, research-informed tuition tailored to each student. Lessons are designed not only to prepare students for the rigour of 7+, 11+, and 13+ assessments but also to nurture curiosity, problem-solving, and a genuine love of the subject. 11+ Tuition Year 5
In Year 5, we focus on mastering the curriculum required for 11+ success. Lessons are designed to clarify misconceptions, strengthen key skills, and develop a deep understanding of core topics. By consolidating knowledge at this stage, your child will enter Year 6 fully prepared to fine-tune their learning and build exam technique, ensuring they approach the 11+ exams with confidence and precision.
11+ Years 3 and 4
Starting 11+ maths in Year 3 or 4 offers children an excellent head start in a highly competitive market. At this stage, I design a tailored programme that ensures a complete and confident understanding of the prep school curriculum, while gradually introducing 11+ mathematical applications, logic, and reasoning. This early foundation builds not only strong skills but also the resilience and problem-solving mindset needed to thrive as the exam approaches.
7+ Tuition
7+ preparation builds strong foundations in maths and reasoning at an early stage. Lessons focus on fluency, problem-solving, and careful application of skills, while developing confidence and resilience for exam-style tasks. By combining curriculum knowledge with early exposure to challenging questions, children are supported to approach the 7+ with both accuracy and enthusiasm.
1 also really enjoy teaching English at this level.
11+ Tuition Year 6
Starting tuition in Year 6 requires a clear structure and careful planning to ensure the core curriculum and high-frequency areas are covered thoroughly. Lessons at this stage focus on systematic review, using past papers and past paper–style questions to strengthen understanding and build exam resilience. Alongside this, I place an increased emphasis on school-specific techniques and curricula, ensuring each child is fully prepared for the demands of their target schools.
Year 7-8 Maths/Occasional Places
I understand that the transition from primary to secondary maths can bring about changes in style and difficulty. I plan tailored sessions that will keep your child on the right track. With my qualifications to teach maths up to age 18, I have the insight needed to guide your child through their maths journey effectively.

When there is a strong focus on entrance exams, it can be easy for a child’s natural enjoyment of maths to be lost. While exam preparation is an important part of my work, I also prioritise ensuring that children are confident with any style of question and well equipped for success beyond assessments. My goal is to design an individualised maths journey for each student, helping them to develop both a deep understanding of the subject and a lasting confidence that continues far beyond my tuition.​
